Sports Carnival 2007

6:30 PM

Okay, brace yourselves, people!! I am gonna go on a blogging frenzy. I haven't been blogging for AGES!! ...Okay, maybe not AGES, lah. I just blogged last week. But it's just that loads of stuff has been happening and I have tons of pictures to post and tons of stuff to say and... I'm not gonna waste anymore time and start the entry proper right now.

Many birthdays are up this week. Specifically, Shamini and Dinah MZ. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BOTH OF YOU!! I bet they're so glad that they are finally sweet sixteen. Oh my gosh! The amount of presents Shamini receieved was mind-blowing. She came to school emptyhanded on the 24th of May and came home with both her hands practically breaking at the amount of plastic bags and wrapped presents. And there were tons of Mini Toons bags. Bet she receieved loads of cute Stuffed Toys. Shamini loves them and everyone knows that. She was running around all over the school. Everyone was wishing her happy birthday. I was stunned at how popular this girl was! I mean, I never really experienced these kind of situations 'cos my birthday is during the holidays which reminds me! Allow me to digress for a moment...

I just realized that my birthday was sandwiched and completely buried in so many events that I'm probably gonna be really exhausted by the time the week ends. I'm going for the Anderson Band's Concert (Ambience) on 3rd June. Then on the 4th, I have this Lit lecture/seminar thingy which I am not really looking forward to after falling asleep in the last one. And so, the next day's my birthday and the day after, I have to go for ANOTHER lit seminar thingy. Again, something I am NOT looking forward to. But hey, better to be busy than to be stuck at home during the holidays, right? Although, I promised myself that I shall set aside THREE FULL days to my a complete slob. During these three days, I am going to watch AS MUCH cable as humaly possible, accompanied with the perfect combo of sleeping-in and eating loads of food. Yes, I miss the good old days when I do nothing but... nothing! Hahaha! Three days of complete rest and relaxation sounds like heaven to me right now.

Right, okay, back to Shamini's brithday. I'm sorry for that little digression. Anyways, a whole bunch of us tried to give Sham a surprise birthday party at Orchard. Priya and Nithiya were the brains of this operation. And the rest just took their lead. Our job was just to distract Sham as much as possible and stall for time while they got the party ready. That would be Dinah Bee, Kanmani, Keetha, Diyanah, Gaya and me. Even with so many people, it was a tough, tough job trying to get the hyper Shamini to sit still or walk slowly or stroll around Orchard. And it didn't help that she has SO MANY bags of presents to carry. But we managed and we surprised Sham at the McDonald's in Takashimaya. Everyone was looking at us but we didn't care. Raihana, Saradha, Nithiya and Priya were waiting with all sorts of stuff and a really pretty cake. Shamini was all high and gonna cry and loud and fanning herself. It was funny to watch. I would've been more hyper if it were not for the fact that my feet was hurting so bad from walking around so much. I have no idea where Sham gets her energy!! Here are some pictures of the event:

And they got her this SUPER DUPER cute doughnut which I totally fell in love with. The smiley face is so Shamini!

Dinah and Shamini. Dinah got her this funny gift. She bought her a bunch of stuff and sew them onto a French Loaf (geddit? 'Cos Shamini takes French?). Only Dinah will think of such crazy ideas.

And that wasn't the only cake I ate that day. Ms Leow gave the birthday babies of January to June a birthday celebration and bought us this HUGE, MASSIVE ice-cream cake which is just heavenly. Diyanah and I were drooling at it's maginificence the moment it entered the room. It almost looked too gorgeous to be eaten... Almost, lah! Hahaha! Then, our class took loads and loads of pictures! And yes, I am going to post them. In fact, I have loads of photos to post so be ready!

After that we took pictures for the rest of year too. But I missed out 'cos I had to go do some ATC stuff. We then, each took a slice and ate till our tummies were no longer growling with hunger but purring with content. Gosh, that was nice! And that was still not the end! Our class decided to order some pizza and we all talked and laughed as we ate to our heart's content. It was delicious!! The crust was crunchy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. And there were a variety of toppings to choose from. I think they ordered every type they could pay for! Hahaha! Here's a look at it...

We had some pepsi to go along with it. Everyone was chilling and laughing and in a good mood. And we were all talking about how Sport's Carnival's gonna be like. We promised that this year, we're gonna do our best and not gonna care what any other class thinks of us. Whether we're extra or whatever. It's our last year together after all! Oh, yes, I almost forgot! We had our class photo-taking for the yearbook that day too! And then, we really got into the cam whore-ish mood and started taking pictures like crazy. Keetha, Diyanah, Gaya, Shamini and I decided to be all British punk rock and loosen our ties and put up our colars. It's so weird to see Shamini be punk! It's like Piglet in a leather jacket! Hahaha!

Holy crap! I'm totally running out of time. I have to report the happenings of Sports Carnival as quickly as I possibly can without leaving anything out. The day started out great. I was all pumped and ready for the day. I had tons of energy and our class was in a good mood. I had on our lcass jersey and our spirits were high. I even did the morning workout! Which really says something about my mood. Dinah Bee had to go on stage! It was hilarious to watch her get confused with all the steps and Azizi practically pushing her off the stage. Poor her!

Our lessons were pretty relaxed. Except for Higher Malay which always a stressing lesson. Filled with Cikgu Asnah burdening us with an unimaginable pile of homework!! She gave us 10 cloze passages, 9 comprehensions, 2 sets of practise papers, 5 whole compositions and a project about the heritage of the malay language as holiday homework. I was dying in her class. Diyanah was just counting the minutes until the bell would ring because you see, the lesson after that was Lit and we were watching Pride & Prejudice! The moment the bell rang, we ran out and headed for Lit class. We watched the movie (Mr Darcy is SO HOT!). Then, a whole bunch of us (Jen, Diyanah, Keetha, Shamini, Dinah Bee and me) went to the Mc Donald's at AMK central and had some breakfast before the carnival. We were planning to play a quick game of badminton before the carnival as well. Yes, we are really busy people. I wasn't really pumped by then 'cos my energy kindda seeped for a while. Jen and I got talking about all sorts of stuff. She's one of the very people who totally understands me. Thank God for her! I had a cup of Mochacinno. That's some good stuff, man!

I wasn't so hot about playing badminton 'cos the food got me all lazy and drowsy and sleepy. But once we reached the YCK badminton stadium, and playing ahile, I got pumped all over again. I love badminton to bits! It's one of the very, very few games that I can actually play without making a complete idiot of myself. We played triples! It was so much fun! I was already sweating buckets before the carnival even began. All of us reached the stadium sweaty, happy and ready!

Keetha, Diyanah and I were really nervous and jumpy about the tug-o-war match. We were against 5/1 but then again, who wasn't. They were in the finals for everything. And we just really wanted to win this ONE thing. But we decided to just focus on having fun before our match was up. We then took our class flag and went for the march-past. Our class walked and displayed our class flag proudly.

And then the Carnival began and the events started. Hong yu was running alot for our class and we supported him as much as we could. He ran hard and played hard! I'm really proud of him! Even if the usual people won (Khairi and all), the thing that really mattered was that Hong Yu really tried. And our class even participated in the 4 x 100m relay race. Eventhough 4/5 and 5/1 totally dominated the tracks (naturally), I think we did pretty well. And then, it was the time of reckoning...

Tug-o-war time. We geared ourselves up. Many were tired out from all the cheering and our boys had to participate in ALL the events we signed in 'cos we had only 10 boys. My heart was thumping as I grabbed the rope. I was terrified. Scared to death as I saw Joey Jr. and Khairi across us, all confident and grinning as if they already won. Around me the whole of 4/6 was cheering and giving us so much energy and support. They were so, so amazing. Joining them were our close friends from 4/5 and other classes. They whistle blew and we pulled like crazy. Elia with her knee injury did her best and kai Hui even fell. And when we lost, I felt so horrible. It was like my spirit was crushed. It was the ONLY thing 4/6 stood a chance in winning. THE ONLY THING!! And we lost to the class that probably should just compete with themselves 'cos they would win anyways. I felt so horrible. I accidentally teared. Then, I felt a sharp pain in my arm and I saw the horrible rope burn I got while playing. And I started tearing from the pain. Around me, the class just huddled and hugged as I started crying. They were so sweet. All of them were giving all the tug-o-war contestants so much support. I felt that we really bonded. I was so glad that they were there. In the distance, I could hear 5/1 doing their little cheers, and I just blocked them out and listened to my classmates words of encouragement. It was both heart-breaking and heart-warming...

We were all bummed and sad ater the match and since we sat beside the speakers, we were blasted with the music the councillors were playing. They played all sorts of weird songs. We tried to request some songs and Diyanah even brought along some songs with her but they refused to play them. We toughed it out and tried not to gag! =P

Zhi An, I tell you!! He's just unbelievable sometimes!

But then, they finally played some decent music and we tried to forget our defeat and just enjoy ourselves.

Akmal and his twin! (that's Diyanah's brother. They are SO alike it's scary!!)

Our Girl Band!! We were singing along and the whole of 4/6 was singing with us . We felt like pop stars!! That really cheered us up. We didn't care. We were gonna enjoy ourselves as a class no matter what.

I love you, 4/6!!

And after that, I went out with Halim and he too cheered me up when we lost to 5/1 (again) for best class flag.

Thank you, everyone! For all your love and support! =)
